In the video, Carroll highlighted the essential work of PennDOT’s frontline teams – “those in vests and hard hats,” he stressed – who keep the state’s roads, ports, and transit systems open and operating safely and smoothly year-round.
He also underscored the important role federal funding plays in helping PennDOT deliver major infrastructure projects that support the state’s economy and connect its 13 million residents.
Carroll also discussed some of the future endeavors ahead for PennDOT, outlining how the state is preparing for a “packed calendar” of major events in 2026 – from hosting celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the United States to the World Cup soccer tournament, Professional Golf Association tournaments, Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game, and the National Football League’s annual draft, which will be held in Pittsburgh.
