The Federal Highway Administration is now soliciting submissions for its 2019 Environmental Excellence Awards, which are due by Sept. 14 this year.
The agency noted that this biennial award is an “opportunity to recognize states, projects or individuals” who are making a critical difference in ensuring that highways and bridges help yet not hurt the environment.
Nominations are accepted for any project, process, group, or individuals involved in a transportation project or process that has used FHWA funding sources to make what the agency described as “an outstanding contribution” to the transportation industry and the environment.
All nominations must be submitted electronically using the online submission form available via the award’s web portal, FHWA said, but if for any reason the electronic submittal of entries is not possible, faxed and mailed copies are acceptable. For more information about the submission of entries, please contact send an email to EEAwardsNomination@dot.gov.
