The core mission of the AASHTO Product Evaluation & Audit Solutions technical service program is to develop cost-effective evaluations for state departments of transportation by eliminating duplicative testing and auditing by both states and manufacturers of the materials and products used in highway and bridge construction.
Russell McMurry, AASHTO president and commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation – and Jim Tymon, AASHTO executive director – will speak at the meeting and communicate the overall value the Product Evaluation & Audit Solution program provides to the state DOT community.
A variety of technical sessions at this year’s conference will offer attendees the opportunity to gain insights into the wide variety of products and materials this program evaluates and audits, as well as a session that offers an overview of the program’s structure to better help meeting participants understand which services are applicable to their specific needs.
In addition to the meeting sessions, there will be a 5K morning run that is part of the meeting’s networking opportunities for all attendees, along with a “First Time Attendees Orientation Breakfast” open to all attendees – rookies and veterans alike – that offers an overview of the program’s structure to better help meeting participants understand which services are applicable to their specific needs.
Finally, AASHTO will also provide updates on the new Domestic Self-Certification Form issued in November 2025; a service designed to help states easily ensure they are using domestically-made products complying with federal “Build America, Buy America” requirements in their transportation projects.
AASHTO worked with the Federal Highway Administration to develop a consistent format for manufacturers and suppliers to self-certify their products – thereby helping state DOTs save time when it comes to completing projects.
