AASHTO’s ETAP Program Seeks Freelance Writer

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Environmental Technical Assistance Program or ETAP is seeking a freelance writer to develop, research, and write three to five weekly stories – each roughly 300 to 500 words in length – related to transportation and the environment for the weekly ETAP newsletter.

Additionally, AASHTO’s National Operations Center of Excellence seeks freelance writing assistance for a series of 20 to 30 case studies that must be completed by late March. AASHTO also needs writing assistance marketing projects in support of technical service programs.

Job candidates should be independent self-starters with seven to 10 years of news writing experience with some experience covering topics related to either transportation or the environment. Candidates should also be familiar with federal permitting agencies and programs, plus understand the federal rulemaking process.
