AASHTO’s CTSO focuses on transportation system operations and associated intelligent transportation system or ITS technologies with a goal of improving safety, system reliability, and highway system performance. Those efforts include the publication of very first “Transportation Operations Manual” in October 2023 – a guidebook for TSMO initiatives.

Wilson – who also serves as chair of the Steering Committee for the AASHTO Innovation Management or AIM technical service program – is a nearly 30-year Utah DOT veteran who oversees the agency’s project development and operations divisions, as well as its four statewide regional offices.

Prior to being named to her current position in January 2020, Wilson served as Region Two director, overseeing the agency’s operations in Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties.

She also worked as Region One director, Region Two deputy director, pre-construction director, Region Two program manager, Region Two traffic operations engineer, and project manager.

Wilson is a licensed professional engineer and holds a degree in civil engineering from Utah State University.
