AASHTOWare Hosting BrM Open Lab on June 17

On June 17, AASHTOWare will host a webinar that offers a “guided exploration” of the recently updated AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM) 7.0.2 application programming interface (API) and how to use AASHTOWare OpenAPI to exchange data with BrM.

A division of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, AASHTOWare offers a suite of software products delivered through a collaborative business model with state departments of transportation across the country.

BrM is a comprehensive asset management system that supports the entire bridge management cycle, including storing bridge inventory and inspection data, formulating network-wide preservation and improvement plans, recommending projects to derive maximum benefits from available funds, and completing federal reporting.

AASHTOWare OpenAPI is a tool that allows multiple applications or systems to talk to each other and exchange data seamlessly. It is a cloud-based solution that incorporates an API management system that acts as a “request hub” for routing data between AASHTOWare software packages.

The webinar will demonstrate the steps to configure BrM to authorize access to the API, authenticate, and transfer data in and out of BrM using AASHTOWare OpenAPI.  The webinar is focused on developers with a general understanding of how to use APIs.

Participants in this webinar will:

  • Discover the AASHTOWare OpenAPI platform: Learn its crucial role in powering the new BrM API.
  • Understand API Prerequisites: Get a clear overview of the fundamentals required to work with the BrM version 7.0.2 API.
  • Explore Core API Scenarios: Hands-on exploration of essential API workflows designed for a smooth transition from BrM version 6.7.
  • Gain Practical Integration Skills: Develop actionable strategies and best practices for leveraging the updated API features.
  • Connect with the Developer Community: Network with peers and set the stage for more advanced sessions down the line.

Future webinars will build on this one and include the new features of BrM 7.0.2, especially how the new package offers better compliance with Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory or SNBI standards and improved life cycle cost analysis calculations.
