The summit will address resources made available by the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (enacted November 2021) as well as the $739 billion Inflation Reduction Act (enacted in August) to rebuild roads, bridges, airports, rail and transit lines, and ports; expand access to high-speed internet; deploy clean energy; and strengthen the nation’s resilience to climate change.

This event will include panel discussions with administration officials, elected leaders from state and local governments, plus leaders from academia, labor, and trade associations.

State DOT CEOs participating in those panel discussions include Shawn Wilson, Ph.D., secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, and Roger Millar, secretary of the Washington Department of Transportation. Both also serve as the current president and vice president, respectively, of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.

Panel discussions at the summit will cover a range of topics, including the impact of inflation on infrastructure costs, the use of technology to manage project costs, contract innovations to encourage budget control, and appropriate risk management strategies.
