The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recently appointed a new director of communications and marketing while hiring a new director of technology and digital strategy.
Maggie Kasperski, AASHTO’s new director of communications and marketing, joined the organization in 2011 and held multiple positions during her tenure – interrupted briefly between 2014 and 2016 when she worked as a consumer issues media manager at the National Association of Realtors.
Kasperski has held multiple positions during her tenure at AASHTO, managing everything from running the annual America’s Transportation Awards competition to building a marketing team in 2018 to promote all the technical service programs and the organization as a whole. She also previously served as the organization’s assistant director of communications and marketing.
Maggie holds two master’s degrees – in public relations and international relations – from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s in public relations from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
AASHTO also recently hired Dave Golden to serve as director of technology and digital strategy, serving as the group’s chief information officer while helping advance several key initiatives that include revamping AASHTO’s web site and other endeavors.
Golden most recently served as the director of information technology for the Advanced Medical Technology Association, as well as assistant vice president for the American Advertising Federation, director of technology for the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, and director of internet services at the Associated General Contractors of America.
