Registration is now open for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials 2022 Washington Briefing, held this year from March 1-4 at the Hilton Washington D.C. Capitol Hill hotel.

This annual meeting gives attendees the opportunity to collaborate with transportation leaders from state departments of transportation, members of Congress, federal transportation officials, and other industry experts on a range of current and future policy matters.
Pete Buttigieg, secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, and Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board, are the keynote speakers for the 2022 Washington Briefing.
Also speaking at this year’s briefing are Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W. Va., ranking member on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee; Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee; and Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-Washington, D.C., chairwoman of the House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit
Other sessions scheduled for this year’s event include a forum focused on implementation of the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act along with Fiscal Year 2022 appropriations updates.
There will also be a session concerning the implementation of the emphasis areas espoused by Shawn Wilson, Ph.D., secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and AASHTO’s 2021-2022 president.
