Hartinger to Chair Committee on Internal/External Audit

Marlene Hartinger, chief auditor for the Oregon Department of Transportation, is the new chair of the Committee on Internal and External Audit for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. For the last two years, she served as vice-chair of the committee.

Hartinger, Oregon DOT’s chief auditor since 2005, originally joined the agency in 2001.  She began her auditing career at the Oregon Secretary of State Audits Division.

Hartinger holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University.

She is a certified internal auditor and a certified public accountant, as well as a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Audit Committees of the Oregon Department of Human Services/Oregon Health Authority, and the Oregon Department of Justice.
