Draft Agenda for 2025 TechEx Conference Released 

AASHTO re:source recently released a draft agenda for its 2025 Technical Exchange or “TechEx” to be held March 17-20, 2025, in Bellevue, WA; an annual event started in 2017 to connect those in the construction materials testing industry and to share knowledge and best practices.

AASHTO re:source hosts an annual event to pursue its vision of pioneering a quality revolution within the construction materials testing and inspection industry, noting that TechEx is designed as a collaborative conference – where participants’ knowledge and experience are exchanged – for the continual improvement of the industry. Participants in the 2025 Technical Exchange can expect to walk away with an increased professional network, practical knowledge to boost job performance, and tools to advance organizational objectives.

New this year to TechEx is the highly anticipated Internal Auditor Certificate Course held on Monday, March 17. At the end of this three-hour course, participants will receive a certificate of completion and the skills needed to be an effective internal auditor. 

Over half of this year’s sessions are new to TechEx and many previously held sessions are getting a revamp to include more practical insights and a deeper understanding of the subject. Nearly 30 informational sessions are on tap for the 2025 the conference, covering a wide array of topics – including everything from accreditation and construction materials testing to equipment calibration, quality management, and more – within the construction material testing industry.  

Some of the sessions outlined in the draft agenda include field and laboratory sampling practices; common findings from concrete testing; and tips for creating a culture of safety in the field. Attendees may also earn Professional Development Hours or PDHs for attending sessions at the event, subject to their state’s licensing board approval, to maintain certifications. 

This year’s TechEx will also feature a technician, manager, and director track featuring content more aligned with the interests at each level. Attendees can pick whichever path they would like and can jump from one to the next to make the most of their time.
