AASHTO Seeks to Fill Meetings Planner Position

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials – an equal opportunity employer – seeks to hire a meetings planner; a full-time position located at the organization’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The meetings planner will help AASHTO manage its conferences, meetings, workshops, and training sessions and will report to organization’s director of meetings.

Job responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Create requests for proposals for potential meeting hotel/venue location and distribute their results; conduct hotel/conference site visits as needed; negotiate all meeting and event contracts for assigned meetings; oversee meeting room set up, food and beverage planning, plus off-site events; manage on-site logistics for events; coordinate, as needed, with assigned publication division staff on the production of marketing materials.

Applicants interested in this position should have three to five years of experience in meeting or hotel conference service. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a concentration in business or hospitality management desired, though equivalent experience may be substituted.
