The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, an equal opportunity employer, is currently seeking to hire a program specialist for transportation finance and a program specialist for policy and government relations – both full-time positions based at AASHTO’s Washington, D.C., headquarters.
The program specialist for transportation finance supports the programs and tasks delivered by the BATIC Institute: An AASHTO Center for Excellence, AASHTO’s Committee on Funding and Finance and its subcommittees, plus also conducts federal and state level research and analysis of transportation funding and finance policy issues.
A minimum of three years of diverse technical and professional experience, with demonstrated evidence of increasing responsibility, is required for this position. Relevant transportation-related experience at a government, industry, association or research institution is also preferred, AASHTO noted.
The program specialist for policy and government relations position supports a broad range of policy development, implementation, and administration activities: helping guide collaboration with key AASHTO partners such as Congress, federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Transportation, and various transportation industry associations.
Three years of diverse technical and professional experience, with demonstrated evidence of increasing responsibility, is required for this position. Relevant transportation-related experience is desired as well, the organization said, preferably at a government, industry, association or research institution.
