Pete Buttigieg, secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, will make a special address at the meeting on October 21. He’ll discuss how the “unique and longstanding” partnership between state departments of transportation and USDOT can be further strengthened to help deliver the benefits of the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act enacted in November 2021.

Dr. Calvin Mackie – president and CEO of STEM NOLA – will provide the keynote address on October 22. STEM NOLA is a nonprofit he created to expose, inspire, and engage communities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics-related fields. To date, STEM NOLA has engaged over 7,000 kindergarten through 12th grade students in hands-on STEM-based projects.

The annual meeting will also feature several knowledge sessions focused on several key transportation and infrastructure sectors, such as the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure; transportation equity; broadband deployment; and resiliency strategies.
