The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recently released a video that captured key moments from its 2026 Council on Rail Transportation Winter Legislative Meeting in Crystal City, VA.

The video highlights remarks from state rail officials, federal leaders, industry partners, and stakeholders from a variety of policy discussion sessions at the meeting, held February 9-12.
That meeting featured remarks by Drew Feeley, deputy administrator for the Federal Railroad Administration; Paul Nissenbaum FRA’s associate administrator and chief development officer, regarding the agency’s business process improvement efforts; and a panel discussion’s overview of the agency’s environmental streamlining efforts.
