The National Operations Center of Excellence or NOCoE recently released a video detailing its participation in the Emergency Response Tech & Demo Day held during the 2026 Intelligent Transportation Society of America Conference & Exposition June 9-12 in Detroit.

NOCoE – a partnership of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, the Institute for Transportation Engineers (ITE), and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, with support from the Federal Highway Administration – said the “Demo Day” event brought together transportation professionals, first responders, and technology leaders to explore innovations that are transforming emergency response and improving roadway safety.
Organized with the help of GFT Infrastructure and the Michigan Department of Transportation, the event featured hands-on demonstrations, emerging technologies, and discussions focused on traffic incident management, connected infrastructure, autonomous vehicles, drones, and real-time data solutions.
“As transportation continues to evolve, collaboration, innovation, and shared knowledge will be essential to building a safer future for responders and the traveling public,” explained Nicholas Ramfos, NOCoE’s director, in the video. “Participants discovered innovative ways to enhance first responders’ capabilities by engaging in hands-on demonstrations.”
