NOCoE – a partnership of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, with support from FHWA – has helped host the Road Weather Spotlight Series of webinars since 2022.
[Editor’s note: NOCoE recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at the 2025 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.]
Those webinars have covered a wide range of topics, such as road weather technological innovations, adverse weather, adverse weather training programs, and much more. Previous webinars can be accessed by clicking here. The July 9 webinar is this series will focus on the “California Wildfire Program & National Weather Service Partnership” and cover a variety of wildfire fighting tactics, such as the creation of “defensible space” which, in the context of fire control, is a natural or landscaped area around a structure that has been maintained to reduce fire danger.
