AASHTO Journal - Webinar: New AASHTOWare Safety Application

A May 27 webinar will highlight the new “Alternative Design” application being added to the AASHTOWare Safety software suite.

A division of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, AASHTOWare offers a suite of software products delivered through a collaborative business model with state departments of transportation across the country.

AASHTOWare Safety is a “Software as a Service” or SaaS platform specifically designed for highway traffic safety data management needs. Introduced by AASHTO as a Strategic Alliance with Utah-based Numetric, Inc., more than four years ago, this product has helped many state DOTs improve traffic safety.

The new “Alternative Design” application for AASHTOWare Safety enables users to make detailed safety calculations during the concept design phase for transportation projects.

This software product “bridges the gap” between safety and design, AASHTOWare said – allowing transportation professionals to make informed decisions earlier in the project lifecycle.

During the webinar, representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Georgia Department of Transportation, and Utah Department of Transportation will share how their agencies plan to implement the new “Alternative Design” application on infrastructure projects overseen by their respective agencies.
