For 11 straight years, the America’s Transportation Awards competition sponsored by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, Socrata (now owned by Tyler Technologies), AAA and the US Chamber of Commerce has showcased the very best transportation projects in nation.
This video highlights the 2018 competition which attracted 79 project nominations from 35 state DOTs.
Twelve projects earned the right to compete for the grand prize and the Socrata People’s Choice Award. At AASHTO’s annual meeting in Atlanta on Sept. 24. the two winners and their respective $10,000 cash awards – to be given to a charity or transportation-related scholarship program of the winner’s choosing – went to the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
