A blizzard that began on Feb. 24 triggered “historic” avalanches that buried an 11-mile stretch of Idaho Highway 21 – known as Canyon Creek – in nearly 50 feet of snow. Video recorded by Idaho Transportation Department highway crews illustrate the work involved in clearing that amount of snow from the roadway.
