Transportation TV Posts TRB Annual Meeting Preview

An estimated 13,000 people are expected to participate in the more than 800 sessions scheduled as part of the Transportation Research Board’s annual meeting in Washington D.C., which runs from January 12 through January 16 this year.

Several state departments of transportation chief executives will lead and/or participate in a number of sessions covering a wide range of important transportation issues, including: aging population trends and their implications for transportation; strategic management of state DOT assets; the renewed focus of state DOTs on highway safety; and review of Cooperative Automated Transportation systems.

Transportation TV interviewed Neil Pedersen, TRB’s executive director, about how the annual meeting represents the kick-off of a year-long centennial celebration for the organization, which officially turns 100 in November.
