Governor Kelly Ayotte (R) and New Hampshire’s Executive Council recently confirmed the nomination of David Rodrigue (above) to serve as the next commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. He will complete the term of former Commissioner William Cass, who retired at the end of February.

Rodrigue – who joined the NHDOT in 1991 – previously served in the agency’s Bureaus of Highway Design, Construction, Traffic, and Highway Maintenance.
In 2005, he became the department’s first program manager for its Transportation Management Center – leading the construction, outfitting, and opening of the round-the-clock, seven-day-a-week facility.
He also previously served as assistant engineer for NHDOT’s District 3 in Gilford, interim engineer for District 1 in Lancaster, and as a District 5 engineer in Bedford – later becoming assistant director of operations in 2012, director of operations in 2016, and assistant commissioner and chief engineer in 2022.
Rodrigue – a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree – and his wife Jodie live in Webster, NH.
