AASHTO Journal - Registration Open for AASHTO's Winter Rail Meeting

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials has opened the registration portal for its Council on Rail Transportation’s Winter Legislative Meeting, which will be held January 27-30 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, VA. During this meeting, state rail officials will engage with key federal, Congressional, Amtrak, and other passenger and freight rail stakeholders on a range of policy and economic issues.

For example, previous AASHTO Rail Winter Legislative Meetings delved into the importance of “collaboration and alignment” between the states and federal transportation agencies; a collaboration that is critical to the delivery of rail projects now and in the future.

Other topics included the ongoing impact of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 on the rail industry as a whole, updates from industry, and updates from various federal partners.
