TransComm will hold its annual meeting October 15-18 in Portland, Maine.
TransComm’s objective is to promote excellence in communications through the exchange of ideas and educational programming while advising other AASHTO committees on communications issues.
The TransComm annual meeting brings together public relations professionals from the 50 state departments of transportation, as well as DOT professionals from Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, along with consultant partners, representatives of the U.S. Department of Transportation, and others interested in communicating transportation topics.
This yearly meeting is an opportunity for transportation communicators from around the United States to build relationships that benefit their state DOTs, highlight successes, share ideas and learn from each other. In addition, much of the subcommittee’s business is carried out during the meeting.
At its 2023 annual meeting, TransComm will hold a variety of information sessions, including ones discussing how state DOTs are building credibility and increasing engagement on social media; how to be an “EPIC” or “Empowering People, Influencing Culture” communicator; and how state DOTs can use free research tools to make outreach campaigns more strategic, effective, and engaging.
