Registration is now open for the third annual Safety Summit, hosted by AASHTO’s Committee on Safety, taking place October 27–30 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Registration for the Safety Summit is available here.
This in-person meeting brings together state DOT leaders, managers, practitioners, and transportation professionals from across the public, private, nonprofit, and academic sectors. The event offers a dynamic forum for sharing safety practices, discussing emerging strategies, and fostering collaboration across the transportation community.
“The Safety Summit attracts some of the brightest minds in transportation to develop real solutions that make our communities safer,” said AASHTO Executive Director Jim Tymon. “We look forward to the ideas and innovations that will emerge in New Orleans.”
This year’s program aligns with AASHTO President Garrett Eucalitto’s presidential emphasis area “Centering Safety,” which shines a light on safer communities, road users, and workers. Attendees can expect interactive plenary and concurrent sessions, new small-group formats, and structured opportunities for peer exchange.
Day one will center on policy and collaboration frameworks, while days two and three will dive into program- and practitioner-level implementation. The Summit will also include two workshops and a poster networking reception highlighting state safety efforts.
This meeting is ideal for transportation professionals across all sectors who are involved in any aspect of traffic safety. By attending the 2025 Safety Summit, attendees will gain valuable insights, opportunities for collaboration, and meaningful peer-to-peer networking. Learn more and register here.
