The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is gathering input from for the public via an online survey to help update its Long-Range Statewide Transportation Plan.

The KYTC feedback from that survey will help identify the goals, policies, needs, and improvement priorities for Kentucky’s transportation system over the next 25 years.
“Our mission is providing the people of Kentucky and those that travel through our state with a safe, efficient, environmentally-sound, and fiscally responsible transportation system,” said KYTC Secretary Jim Gray in a statement.
“But the system also needs to meet the needs and desires of the people who use it, so we’re giving everyone a voice in the planning process,” he stressed. “My hope is that everyone will take this opportunity to tell us what’s most important to them as they travel across town and across our state, both now and in the future.”
Gray emphasized that this 25-year plan – which will take 18 months to complete – is multimodal in nature and will examine all modes of travel, including car, bus, bike, boat, foot, train, or plane. That’s regardless of whether they are privately-owned or publicly managed transportation modes, he added.
When completed in late 2022, the updated plan will serve as a template for all KYTC transportation policy decisions and investment strategies between now and 2045.
It will also include an “implementation plan” comprised of short-term actions that support the plan’s long-term vision, goals, and objectives defined within the LRSTP.
