Kramer Nominated to be CFO for USDOT

On May 1, President Trump nominated John Kramer, currently the deputy assistant secretary for budget and finance at the U.S. Department of Transportation, to become chief financial officer for the agency. Kramer is also being appointed assistant secretary for budget and programs at USDOT.

Kramer, who joined USDOT in December 2017, spent 20 years at Phillip Morris International, rising to the rank of vice president, followed by stints at transportation software and warehousing firms. Just prior to joining USDOT, Kramer served as group CFO of the Aerosim Flight Academy in Florida, which provides flight training and simulation services.

Married with two daughters, Kramer is a graduate of Colgate University and received a master’s degree in accounting from the New York University Stern School of Business and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant while working for the former Peat, Marwick & Mitchell accounting firm, now KPMG, in New York.
