The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet recently issued nearly $6.5 million to 10 local bridge projects across eight counties and two cities in the state.

This is the latest round of funding from KYTC’s County and City Bridge Improvement Program, which has now awarded over $45 million to local governments since 2025. This sixth round of awards funds nine bridge replacement projects and one bridge repair endeavor. Four of the 10 bridges receiving funds are currently closed, with the others posted with weight restrictions, KYTC noted.
“These projects are about more than just infrastructure, they’re about the people they connect and the opportunities they create,” noted Governor Andy Beshear (D) in a statement. “By investing in these improvements, we are supporting commerce, tourism and job creation in these communities for years to come.”
[Editor’s note: Gov. Beshear recently attended the demolition of the KY 8 Licking River Bridge by KYTC to make way for the installation of a new structure.]
“Our local bridges provide vital connections across the Commonwealth,” added Jim Gray, KYTC’s secretary. “Keeping them safe and accessible is our commitment to every Kentuckian in every community.”
