Iowa DOT Sponsors ‘Innovations in Transportation’ Conference

The Iowa Department of Transportation is sponsoring a day-and-a-half meeting Oct. 9 through 10 in Ames, Iowa, dubbed the Innovations in Transportation conference, which will include discussions on the future of transportation, including mobility and accessibility, connected and autonomous vehicles, organizational change, and data analytics.

The agency said this conference is “designed for transportation professionals at state and local agencies, academia, and business and industry.”

The cost to attend is $276 through Sept. 26 and $325 after Sept. 26, with an optional Pavement Preservation Workshop following the conference on Oct. 10 free for public agency employees.

The conference’s keynote speaker is Simon Anderson, a professional futurist and emerging technology and trends consultant, who co-authored Foresight 20/20: A Futurist Explores the Trends Transforming Tomorrow with fellow global futurist Jack Uldrich.
