A local Wyoming public broadcasting station recently won a regional Emmy award for a short documentary film regarding the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s snow fence program.

Wyoming PBS won four regional Emmy awards for its film productions from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Heartland in late July; recognizing excellence in television and media production across Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
One of those awards was for the short film “Our Wyoming: Snow Fences,” specifically in the Environment/Science–Short Form/Long Form Content category.
The film goes behind the scenes with Wyoming DOT’s Winter Research Team to uncover the science of how snow fence structures work.
From their deceptively precise design to their surprising second life as reclaimed furniture, the Wyoming PBS film explored how a one-dollar investment can return a thousand dollars in savings, keeping roads clear and drivers safe.
