Hosted by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, this in-person meeting brings together state department of transportation leaders, managers, practitioners, and other transportation professionals from across the public, private, nonprofit, and academic sectors. The event offers a dynamic forum for sharing safety practices, discussing emerging strategies, and fostering collaboration across the transportation community.
This year’s program aligns with the “Centering Safety” emphasis area of AASHTO President Garrett Eucalitto, which shines a light on safer communities, road users, and workers. (See more on that subject in Eucalitto’s AASHTO profile video below.)
Attendees can expect interactive plenary and concurrent sessions, new small-group formats, and structured opportunities for peer exchange.
Day one will center on policy and collaboration frameworks, while days two and three will dive into program- and practitioner-level implementation. The Safety Summit will also include two workshops and a poster networking reception highlighting state safety efforts.
