AASHTO said attendees and staff must provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to arrival in Milwaukee. All meeting attendees will also be required to wear a mask or an approved quality face covering for the duration of the meeting, regardless of vaccination status.
Attendees may remove their masks temporarily when eating or drinking and conference speakers may remove their masks when making presentations, AASHTO noted.
The organization will also provide a “safety packet” for meeting attendees that includes disposable filtered masks, travel size hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes.
Speakers at AASHTO’s Council on Rail annual meeting include federal, state and local leaders, along with leading freight and passenger rail leaders, who plan to discuss key transportation principles of the Biden Administration.
Key sessions at the Council of Rail will focus on Climate and Resilience Solutions; Rail Investments and Improving Core Assets; Equity and Economic Inclusion Goals; Rail Safety; and Advancing New Technologies.
The council will also host a Federal Transit Administration training session on Grade Crossing State Action Plans, pertaining to improvements in highway-railroad line crossing safety.
