BATIC Institute Hosting ‘Dashboard’ Webinar for State DOTs

The BATIC Institute: An AASHTO Center for Excellence will host an hour-long webinar on Feb. 20 from 1 to 2 p.m. EST regarding public engagement strategies for state departments of transportation.

Three presenters – Ryan Avery of consulting firm WSP, Jay Styles from the Virginia Department of Transportation, and Peter Olson with the Minnesota Department of Transportation – will discuss how state DOTs can more effectively inform the public regarding the scope of transportation projects, their progress, and completion dates via the use of web-based “dashboards.”

Much like a vehicle dashboard with gauges displaying speed, fuel level, engine temperature, and other critical operation data, project “dashboards” can summarize key performance measures and monitor compliance with organizational goals.

The BATIC Institute added that this webinar will outline key principles in creating a dashboard and will share best practices in identifying the intended audience for a dashboard, designing the dashboard itself, plus defining meaningful performance measures.

Registration for this webinar is free and is available at: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2743528198396227596.
