AASHTOWare, a division of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, offers a suite of transportation software products delivered through a collaborative business model with state departments of transportation across the country.
The workshop at the Safety Summit featured a deep dive into the AASHTOWare Safety powered by Numetric product developed from a strategic partnership formed in April 2020 – resulting in Numetric as a service platform specifically designed for highway traffic safety data management needs.
Workshop attendees received a hands-on introduction to AASHTOWare Safety powered by Numetric from their peer states.
Staff from the Utah Department of Transportation, Idaho Transportation Department, and Georgia Department of Transportation shared examples of how AASHTOWare Safety supports their state’s unique safety improvement work.
Kelly Campbell of ITD and Samuel Harris of Georgia DOT led the workshop attendees through a real-world intersection improvement scenario in Georgia using live safety data.
Workshop attendees at the Safety Summit explored multiple features of the AASHTOWare Safety product.
“This workshop allowed current and potential new users of AASHTOWare Safety to explore how this software package can help them develop better and more detailed crash metrics data faster and more accurately,” explained Ryan Fragapane, product director at AASHTOWare.
“It is about how we can deploy technology to eventually help drive down the number of fatal and serious injury crashes occurring on our roads,” he said.
