The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recently issued AASHTOWare Bridge 7.2, the latest version of its core bridge design and rating software platform.

AASHTOWare – which offers a suite of transportation software products delivered through a collaborative business model with state departments of transportation across the country – upgraded its bridge design and rating package with a range of new features and capabilities:
- It now offers a superstructure data exchange via the Industry Foundation Classes data standard for exchanging bridge model data in a non-proprietary and vendor-neutral data format.
- It includes the new Steel Plate Girder Design Tool, following steps laid out in the Federal Highway Administration’s LRFD Design Example for Steel Girder Superstructure Bridge.
- It features new Prestressed Concrete Design Tool enhancements, such as a structure framing plan, typical section, and beam profile schematics.
- It offers new Load Rating Tool enhancements that support LRFR analysis of multi-girder systems, slab systems, and multi-cell box beams.
