Recently, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Center for Environmental Excellence – in collaboration with the Federal Highway Administration and the Association Metropolitan Planning Organizations – conducted a peer exchange on Environmental Justice Analysis Strategies at the 2019 AMPO Annual Conference.

That session provided participants from state DOTs and municipal planning organizations or MPOs with the opportunity to discuss challenges associated with environmental justice analyses; challenges that can include inter-agency collaboration, training, technical assistance, and capacity building needs.
To build on the lessons learned from the peer exchange, AASHTO’s Center for Environmental Excellence will host a webinar on Wednesday, December 4, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm ET. It will feature highlights and updates from the session from FHWA, AMPO, and AASHTO, as well as presentations from a state DOT and MPO on their own state environmental justice efforts and their key takeaways from this peer exchange.
Registration is required; click here for more information about this webinar and to register for it as well.
