The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials – an equal opportunity employer – seeks to hire a marketing specialist to support its overall marketing and communications program, as well as AASHTO’s technical service programs. This is a full-time position based out of the organization’s headquarters, located in Washington, D.C.

The marketing specialist is responsible for the execution of marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities – both external and internal. That includes raising member agency and general public awareness of AASHTO’s programs, products, services and value proposition, while enhancing program image and positioning within the transportation marketplace.
Candidates for this position should demonstrate a strong commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross‐functional teams. Skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities is desired along with strong creative, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
A minimum of three years’ experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not‐for‐profit or association sector, with experience working with volunteers desirable. Out‐of‐town, overnight travel may be required for 15 to 20 days per year.
