AASHTO Seeks to Fill Two Full-Time Positions

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, an equal opportunity employer, is seeking to hire both a program manager and associate program manager for the AASHTO Product Evaluation & Audit Solutions technical service program, with both positions based in its Washington, D.C., office.

In coordination with the program director, the program manager position oversees the administration and management of tasks associated with the AASHTO Product Evaluation & Audit Solutions audit programs, which ensure that manufacturing facilities supporting state departments of transportation are building products in accordance with AASHTO and ASTM standards under a robust quality control/quality management system.

As needed, the program manager also supports the AASHTO Committee on Materials and Pavements, a committee responsible for developing and maintaining AASHTO standards and specifications utilized for many of the AASHTO Product Evaluation & Audit Solutions.

Applicants for this position should have a minimum of six to eight years of experience with project or process management, specifically in contract and contractor management, and must be able to travel approximately 20 percent of the year for work. Previous positions should demonstrate professional growth and increasing responsibility. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related technical or scientific field, is required, with evidence of a higher degree of professional development is desirable.

Concurrently, the associate program manager job opening for AASHTO Product Evaluation & Audit Solutions covers similar duties in support of the program manager position, with a travel requirement of at least 20 days per year.

Applicants should have at least five years of progressively responsible experience, with a Bachelor of Science degree required, preferably in engineering or a technical field. AASHTO noted that a master’s degree in the areas of transportation planning, engineering, policy, or the equivalent substituting for professional experience.

Prior experience working with construction materials, manufactured products industries, or overseeing audit programs is desirable, but not required. Specifically, it is highly desirable for the incumbent to have basic audit experience in a transportation manufacturing environment, specifically experience related to quality control and assurance.
