The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, an equal-opportunity employer, is seeking to fill four full-time positions at its Washington, D.C., headquarters. The application deadline for those positions is January 24.
The first is for a National Transportation Product Evaluation Program or NTPEP program specialist, who will be responsible for supporting AASHTO members as the liaison for several NTPEP technical committees and may provide support for AASHTO’s Committee on Materials and Pavement.

AASHTO is also seeking a staff accountant, who will be responsible for revenue and expenditure batch review, general ledger account analysis and posting, and the preparation of payroll. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining AASHTO’s depreciation schedule and assisting with the monthly close process as well as with generating internal financial reports.
This position will be the finance team’s subject matter expert on the accounting system, providing technical support in resolving user issues of the accounting system and conduct training sessions as necessary.

The third role AASHTO seeks to fill is for a senior technical editor, who manages the largest, most complex documents for the organization; reviews final proofs; and assists in the coordination and production of electronic publishing of technical publications, including assisting in digital preparation.
As required, the incumbent also edits and proofreads documents; communicates extensively with authors, vendors, committee members, the meetings department, and the professional technical staff to ensure technical accuracy as well as to expedite the progress of a document from the balloting process through to query responses and printing or online posting.
A successful candidate will have a minimum of seven to ten years of technical and/or large book production experience using a variety of digital production processes. Lastly, AASHTO is looking for a digital marketing specialist. This role has primary responsibility of using social media and other online tools to support AASHTO’s overall marketing and communications program, as well as AASHTO’s technical service programs.
The digital marketing specialist utilizes social and digital media in execution of marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities; both external and internal.
