AASHTO re:source is part of the engineering and technical services division of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. It provides services and tools through three major programs: the Laboratory Assessment Program, the Proficiency Sample Program, and the AAP.
The group noted that, via the AAP, accredited laboratories undergo rigorous third-party assessments. Each assessment requires the demonstration of material test methods in their entirety by the laboratory’s technical staff, which includes evaluations of the testing apparatus associated with each test.
Assessments also includes a thorough review of the laboratory’s quality management system, including records of technician training and competency evaluations as well as equipment calibration and check records.
Additionally, a detailed review of all accreditation requirements, including participation in the AASHTO re:source and CCRL proficiency sample programs, is conducted for each accredited laboratory at least once per year.
The AAP currently accredits over 2,000 laboratories located in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, Mexico, and Belgium.
AASHTO re:source said its staff will be on hand during this “Q & A style” webinar to answer all accreditation-related questions. While there will be live Q & A, attendees are encouraged to submit questions during the registration process.
