AASHTO Releases Second 2019 Update for Materials Standards Publication

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials just released the second of three 2019 updates for its Standard Specifications for Transportation Materials and Methods of Sampling and Testing and AASHTO Provisional Standards reference compendium – a publication typically referred to as the “Materials Standards” guide.

The Materials Standards contain specifications, test methods, and provisional standards commonly used in the construction of highway facilities. The second update revises the guide’s sections on General Manufactured Materials, including: Concrete drainage structures; flexible and metallic pipe; markings and coatings; and safety devices.

The June 2019 update also contains two new standards along with 25 updated standards, AASHTO noted.

The web-based Materials Standards are available as a one-year online subscription with current subscribers automatically receiving access to all updates published during the subscription period, as well as access to recent past editions, with changes between editions highlighted for ease of reference. Customers can purchase a subscription via the online AASHTO Store at https://store.transportation.org, searching by Item Code HM-WB.

Customers may purchase either a single-user license or choose among several multiple-user license options, which offer deeper price discounts, including: a 25 percent for a two-user license; a 33 percent discount for a three-user license; and a nearly 40 percent discount for a 25-user license.
