The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recently opened the registration portal for its 2021 Council on Rail Transportation annual meeting, taking place in Milwaukee, September 28 through October 1.

This will be the first in-person meeting held by AASHTO since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Speakers at AASHTO’s Council on Rail annual meeting include federal, state and local leaders, along with leading freight and passenger rail leaders, who plan to discuss key transportation principles of the Biden Administration.
Key sessions at the Council of Rail will focus on Climate and Resilience Solutions; Rail Investments and Improving Core Assets; Equity and Economic Inclusion Goals; Rail Safety; and Advancing New Technologies.
The council will also host a Federal Transit Administration training session on Grade Crossing State Action Plans, pertaining to improvements in highway-railroad line crossing safety.
