First, AASHTO named Allison Camden – senior director of external relations for the Washington State Department of Transportation – to a two-year term as TPF’s vice chair.
The TPF discusses and recommends policies related to legislation, regulation, and other policy matters to AASHTO’s board of directors, including the association’s recommended positions on reauthorization of key transportation legislation and on ongoing topical issues of interest to members.
Those policies may include modal, multimodal, multi-disciplinary, and emerging issues that have originated from the councils and committees or have been assigned to the TPF by the board or the board’s Strategic Management Committee.
Second, AASHTO appointed Brad Darr – state maintenance engineer for the North Dakota Department of Transportation – to a two-year term as SICOP’s chair.
SICOP, one of AASHTO’s technical service programs, experiments with snow and ice technologies and helps introduce the ones with the most promise to the U.S. transportation industry. SICOP also helps disseminate winter operation information and best practices via in-person meetings, webinars, and podcasts.
