The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recently released the latest version of its annual “State DOT HR Metrics Report,” based on data gathered in 2022.

This report provides key human resource or HR metrics gathered from state departments of transportation that responded to a survey developed by the AASHTO Committee on Human Resources and the Montana Department of Transportation.
In that survey, state DOTs were asked to provide data on gender, race, and ethnicity for their respective workforces; breaking that data down by Employment Equity Opportunity or EEO position categories.
AASHTO said the collection and reporting of this EEO data will help create a uniform set of metrics to guide the development policies, processes, and best practices or state DOTs nationwide.
