The AASHTO rail council’s winter meeting will feature several panel discussions, including a session host by the Federal Railroad Administration on a mix of rail project delivery topics and environmental issues, such as National Environmental Policy Act or NEPA streamlining efforts.
Executives from Amtrak will make presentations on passenger rail trends at the meeting, with Ian Jefferies – president and CEO of the Association of American Railroads – providing one of the keynote speeches.
Other sessions at the Council on Rail Transportation’s winter legislative meeting include ongoing implementation of programs funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act or IIJA; safety initiatives; and next generation rail equipment developments.
