Scot Becker (seen above) – director of the bureau of structures for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation – has been appointed to serve a two-year term as vice chair for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Committee on Bridges and Structures.
A 25-year Wisconsin DOT veteran, Becker oversees program, policy, design, maintenance, and administration of the state’s 15,000 transportation bridges and ancillary structures.
He’s been on the Bridges and Structures Committee for 13 years as the primary voting member for Wisconsin and in that time worked on the T-5 Technical Committee on Loads and Loads Distribution as well as the T-19 Technical Committee on Software and Technology, where he served as chairman for the last nine years. Additionally, Becker serves on the Bridges and Structures executive committee.
Becker holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and is a licensed professional engineer.
