The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, an equal opportunity employer, seeks to hire an Associate Program Manager for Transportation Engineering; a full-time position located in the organization’s Washington, D.C., office.

This position supports the administration and implementation of programs, projects, and special assignments of the councils, committees, and technical service programs or TSPs within AASHTO’s project delivery team, which facilitates collaboration amongst subject matter experts from the departments of transportation in developing standards and guidelines that are used to deliver transportation investments across the country.
Candidates for this position should have at least five years of progressively responsible, professional experience. A Bachelor of Science degree is required, preferably in engineering or a technical field, with post graduate education may substitute for professional experience. Evidence of further professional development or certification is desirable but is not required.
AASHTO said it is highly desired that the incumbent has previous experience in a state, local, or federal transportation agency and demonstrate knowledge in areas such as policy, planning, highway/roadway design, traffic engineering, engineering operations and maintenance, or structures and project management.
Also, roughly 20 to 25 days of travel annually is required for this position.
