The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recently named Barry Paye, P.E. (above) – director of the Bureau of Technical Services for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation – to a two-year term as chair of the Steering Committee for the AASHTO Product Evaluation & Audit Solutions technical service program.

Paye – a transportation engineer with 20 years of experience – has served as Wisconsin DOT’s director of Bureau of Technical Services since March 2006.
In that role, Paye focuses on process improvement, quality, and coordination within the agency. Prior to that position, he worked as the chief materials engineer at the Wisconsin DOT, overseeing the quality of materials and the construction program.
He also previously held the position of senior engineer at the Minnesota Department of Transportation, where his responsibilities included managing construction projects, conducting traffic analysis, and overseeing budget and finance.
Paye obtained both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1995 and 2001.
