Software provider AASHTOWare – a division of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials – recently initiated a “Data Alliance” with Sitenotes.

Since 1985, AASHTOWare has been the premier source of innovative technology solutions for the transportation community. As a result, AASHTOWare created its Alliance Program in 2023 to fill functional gaps in its software offerings while allowing it to meet the evolving technological needs of its members.

“Alliances help provide meaningful benefits to AASHTOWare members – whether through pricing, unique features, the enhancement of current products, or the creation of new ones,” explained Keith Platte, director of AASHTOWare. “Our Alliance Program is helping us deliver innovative solutions to our state department of transportation members and the transportation technology marketplace at a faster pace.”
The Data Alliance designation within the Alliance Program is for companies promoting data interoperability between their products and AASHTOWare.
Leveraging AASHTOWare OpenAPI – a cloud-based tool that allows multiple applications or systems to talk to each other and exchange data seamlessly, acting as a “request hub” for routing data between AASHTOWare software packages – Data Alliances bring together AASHTOWare and non-AASHTOWare applications to support business needs.
AASHTOWare’s first Data Alliance is with Sitenotes, which will allow all AASHTOWare licensing members to integrate their version of AASHTOWare Project with Sitenotes via AASHTOWare OpenAPI.
Sitenotes provides mobile-first, offline-ready tools to digitize inspections with Geographic Information System or GIS-based digital as-builts. It syncs directly with AASHTOWare, configurable to transportation agency needs for seamless, lifecycle-ready oversight.
