Entitled “Survey of State Funding for Public Transportation—Final Report 2023, Based on FY 2021 Data,” the report provides a “snapshot” of state-by-state investment in public transportation from federal, state, and local funding sources.
Numerous tables and charts enable the reader to understand how different funding and tax mechanisms are used to support transit operations and capital projects, AASHTO said, with the report also addressing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on state transit programs, including creative and innovative solutions to help transit agencies overcome pandemic-related obstacles.
